Qatman can you please help me coz the usb modem of qtel is nmot working on my mac book pro,,, I tried to visit qtel's web site but nothing is there to solve my problem...Please help thanks!!!

Has anyone heard if the Vodafone USB Broadband has been launched yet?? Ran into a VFone guy and they have it up and running but havent heard if its actually for sale yet.

I purchased a router for the Q-tel USB modem. I am having difficulty getting it to co connect to the internet through the router.

Any suggestion would be appreaciated.

Got 1GB (QAR100/mo.) last Jan 3 and paid QAR399 for the USB. for 1 GB max would be 30 hours a month usage.

The regular ADSL packages are unlimited. As a torrent user myself, I am constantly watching speeds and UL/DL ratios. I've never had any issues.

What is strange is that the website boasts up to 7.5MB connection, but another user above posted 200k download speeds. My 4MB ADSL line connects at ~500k downloads. I guess it would depend on the area / signal, but it doesnt sound that impressive and the overlimit charges are really over the top.

was wondering can i use the modem 2 connect 2 d net on my Playstation 3 console or does it work only on a laptop or PC?

I heard that recently Qtel launched a new usb modem= with unlimited download access for 400 QR. is that right?

I called their helpline today and they quoted 199 for the usb modem. Has the price really come down (799 in Oct08?) or is it a different thing

I have been looking that 3g modem for 2 months in Qatar but unfortunately i couldn't find. I have visited the all Qtel branches. It is still not available!!

So, i do want to purchase. Does anybody know that how can i find it? or is there another option like using of another trademark (ie.sony or vodofone)? then i can purchase only sim card from Qtel.

if another trademark is available, please let me know where i can find it!

i have it working on leopard and on tiger, i got a program called cheetahWatch so that i can track how many gigs i have downloaded, i got the 300 ryal plan (5 gigs), if you go over your limit, they do not disconnect you, they simply charge you 1 ryal per mb, thats 1000 ryal for one gig.....so do NOT go over the limit...but speeds are 200 KB/s download and so far it is working perfectly....prety impressed by it actualy...pm me if you need any more details, i have been using it for 2 weeks on both apple computers and the xp part on my macbook pro and i have had no complaints

A USB Modem where you install the sim is included in the package provided. It works fine on all platforms. Mac users need to download the driver from QTEL site.HTH - 

Does it work with any modem? If so, d'you get the kit to connect the modem to the SIM card? Also, I know the ads I see on the roads feature a macbook, but I just want to be sure - will it work with Apple's babes? I can't find anything in Q-tel's website.
