Skype and SIP on iPhone

Skype and SIP dialer is available now for the iPhone. I used the SIP phone to dial out successfully from my Iphone using WiFi.

To install the application add  http://fring.com/iphone.xml as an installer source and the progam called "fring" is available in the installer to install.

I do not have a Skype account, If any one is able to use it, please post it here.

xyned its Qatman with a Q not c. The things you mentioned are networking issues and not really SIP issue as SIP can run on TCP, UDP and SCTP . Today many companies are using SIP for their internal and well as international calls. Soon Networks have to be matured enough to manage it and not the other way around.

check for BIGPOND on google. its australias biggsest ISP. I am a technical support specialist with them.. so when I say sip has issues. I mean, as a platform for voip its ok. but then again its short comings include poor management of bandwith and poor programming to allow for priority of voice data. Altogether it doesnt do a thing on qtels adsl anyway. Either way. voip card resellers support voip providers with apps which overcome the qtel barrier and offer quality without much tinkering with software. Most customers are here for a solution and not for a problem.

Xyned  The card sellers may not support it but SIP is a very reliable way of making calls on internet and is here to stay.

Soniaraj, It is surprising that you have not heard of iPhone. Google it to know what it is.

About sip. dont really bother. Sip is a client which will enable you to hook onto a voip provider. sip application is poorly supported. Even at card sellers. they wont sell you a card for any internet tel provider which uses this client cause its got real issues.

fai077 To use the SIP Phone you have to subscribe to an SIP provider. There are many providers who offer the service and the calling rates are very cheap.
