Tourist visa through hotel

Hello All,

I went to airport visa office to get 1 month toursit/visitor visa for my parents who both are above 60 (in fact above 70). The officer there said that he cannot give visa for them as they are above 60 however I should get it through 4/5 star hotels in Doha. According to him even if hotels request visa from them for 1 day, they will issue it for a month. So I should deal with hotel about it.

I wonder if anyone has any experience with this sort of thing, any leads?

the hotel can give them a visa provided that you also book a room with the said hotel...
