VISITNG VISA TO JOB VISA TRANSFER

Hi,

I have a friend who came here in Qatar on visit visa and got job recently. The agency through which the visit visa was arranged has agreed that they can give NOC for visa transfer. However both the agency guys & companys HR department says that the rule has been changed and even if we get NOC, we have to EXIT from the country to issue new Visa. The visit visa cant be transferred to job visa as per the new rule even if we have NOC. Is this correct ? Can anyone advise.

that is correct. they will have to do a visa run and re enter the country on the new company sponsored visa. the time in between depending on the dedication of the PRO is about a week or 2
