Will 40" or 47" LED TV allowed in my checked baggage?

I am flying from Texas, USA to Delhi, INDIA in the month of decemeber'13 .Planning to Carry a 40" or 47" LED TV in my checked baggage.Please advice is this allowed in Qatar airways. If allowed what are the custom charges i may be ready to pay and at which locations.Please let me know.

Up to 32" is free. You will have to pay customs at the point of entry for any TV size beyond 32".

It may not be worth it if you are paying full customs. You might land up paying more than what it costs to buy a TV at your home town.

The charge is a 35% customs duty for any size of flat screen tv.
