Chi Hair Straightener
I got an early Christmas present last week, a CHI flat iron/hair straightener. CHI is one of the best flat irons out there, in my opinion.
Anyway, I was reading through the little information book that came with it and it says that it will not work with an adapter! So I can't bring it with me when I come to Doha. This is not good since I know that it was at least $250 to $300 as it was a limited edition red coloured one.
Anyway, are CHI straighteners sold here, and about how much do they cost?
Thanks!
Thank you for the responses.
It says "Do not use a voltage converter." and "CONVERTERS CANNOT BE USED" (all in caps so it must be important!
Mine says it is 120 V.
Now I am all sad.
The original price was $299 but it was marked down and then marked down again. I didn't pay for it, but Santa did.
I can always keep it here to use when I come back home, and buy one in Doha.
If the package says do not use a transformer, I would guess this is more for the transformer than the Chi. A lot of electrical items will blow the transformers. But I really don't see the Chi being in any danger!
I've used mine just fine with a transformer. I've never had any problems with it at all. If I were you I would bring it and use it (which is what I've already done). O-yeah............I bought mine in the states about a year ago and it is 110.
Good Luck!
My daughter's burned up two chi's while living here. One used hers for quite a while and then it just burned up one day. The other daughter burned hers up while visiting. There are off brands, but I'm not sure about the real deal. I don't see why you couldn't use a converter, though. My daughter's were just using the adapters. Good Luck!
