Australian National Swim Team Trains at Aspire Zone for World Championship
For the first time, Australia’s 2015 World Championship Swim Team is undergoing training at the Hamad Aquatic Centre at the Aspire Zone from July 19 to 29, 2015. Widely regarded as one of world’s strongest swim teams, and comprised of internationally recognised athletes, the entire group will be preparing for the FINA World Championships that will be taking place in Kazan, Russia.
Commenting on the team’s experience at the Aspire Zone, Swimming Australia Head Coach Jacco Verhaeren said:
“I am very pleased with our accommodation and training facilities in Doha, a number of our swimmers have used the Aspire Zone in the past and their services and facilities are world class. The staging camp in Doha is a chance for our swimmers to familiarise themselves with the time zone and put the final touches on their World Championship preparations in a highly professional environment at the state-of-the-art Hamad Aquatic Centre.”
For the past three years, Aspire has hosted three small groups annually, who used Aspire Zone’s facilities for their training routine, in addition to regularly organising camps for top-tier athletes and sports clubs. By providing a year-round indoor climate-controlled training facility, it aims to nurture elite sporting talent, allowing athletes to compete at their maximum potential.
