I have problem connecting laptop to video camera using FireWire port

I recently bought Acer aspire 4720Z with windows vista home edition. When I connect my Sony video camera the laptop not detecting it.

I tried by changing the cable but no use. I googled and found that many people face similar problem with blaming vista.

Any one use this configuration and successful?

MD, It is already enabled and the software is ok as per the properties.

Check if the Wirefire port driver is installed and that the port is enabled.
