Internet problem with Windows Vista
I've just bought a new laptop with vista. It's not loading web pages even though it has a strong internet connection. My other laptop running XP has absolutely no problems.
Anyone else had this, and how did you fix it?
I have found millions of posts on the web relating to vista and internet problems but I cannot find an answer that has actually worked.
I am using IE8 but the problem also affects IE7, firefox, chrome etc. and it is also not the AV or firewall. I've tried all of that.
The problem is Vista and some setting somewhere.
Anybody have the solution?
Try this fix, go to Start, control panel, network and internet, network and sharing center, click on manage wireless network, click on adapter properties (if windows ask permission, just press continue), be sure internet protocol version 6(TCP/IPv6) is checked, click it and then click on properties, then tick on Obtain an IPv6 address automaticall and tick also the Obtain DNS server address automatically below, then ok. repeat with Internet protocol Version 4(TCP/IPv4)
hope it helps.
Are you sure, internet is working properly in your other unit using XP OS? If yes, then you can try updating or installing flash player and java applet in your Laptop using Vista OS.
Vista has no connectivity issue especially in the internet connection.

Make sure your router is set to auto assign IP, if not, set it up or else you will not be able to have your connection in your new laptop what ever OS you will use. Try to connect using cable first then try using wireless connection.
Try ping first your router (basic IP testing), either wireless or wired. then next run your browser
what connection do you use? Wireless or normal LAN.
i guess you are using the Qtel Router ,
get another router .
