I have windows 7 enterprise activated with a genuine key, joined to a domain.
Whenever I open outlook it prompts me to enter my username and password endlessly, and even when I open firefox it asks me for authentication….
The IE8 works normally and I can even access shared files on my network.
Well I am a local admin on this pc and I did run it as administrator but still prompts me for a user name and password to access my proxy. Witch it didn’t need while I was using windows XP or vista.
its like u r trying to access internet or outlook from a pc Which is not joined to the domain, except for ie8 which works fine so far.
Try to locate your Firefox.exe file from the directory where it's installed. Right click on it and choose run as administrator and enter your administrator password.
If that will work fine then you got a permission issue with the current user, if not then it could be anything else.
do u have any user name or password ? i mean is it supplied with ur OS? normally they dont. i guess you got this from ur company since its enterprise edition ..
in retail, only 3 versions are available now which are Ultimate, Pro and Home premium. i am using one of this and i never had this problem. you may consider a re-installation or check with your tech dept if there is anything to do with password .. it might be a new thing from Microsoft ..
