Qatar Living impressed by fabulous Romeo & Juliet Restaurant
By Zarina Rajah
Imagine being greeted at the door by a couple in costumes of old Verona in Italy, sitting in an alcove with subdued lighting, a coach enclosure with absolute privacy - such was the setting at Romeo & Juliet Restaurant that one cannot but be impressed by the varied ambience of this newly opened restaurant.
Seating arrangements aside, the customer is also spoilt for choice as the restaurant offers French, Italian, Moroccan and Arabic Fusion menus.
We started off with soups – Harira and Potato Soup with shrimps. The Harira was as good as can be expected but the Potato Soup with Shrimps was surprisingly very tasty; the shrimps were fresh, perfectly done and simply presented with just a sprig of rosemary.
We were recommended Meat Cubes with Grenade by our waiter, Dmitriev who originated from Serbia. It was a very good choice. And true to its grenade name, the taste explodes in your mouth as you bite into the meat pieces.
Chef Eli explained that the tangy taste came from Pomegranate Molasses used in preparing the dish.
For main course we chose a Rack of Lamb and Fish Rolls. The roasted Rack of Lamb was succulent and well presented. The Fish Rolls, were light and filled with flavor.
We rounded off our meal with Roasted Pineapple and Juliet Kounafa as dessert choices. The Roasted Pineapple was served with Mango Sorbet and the blend was simply outrageous. The Juliet Kounafa was another pleasant surprise and a “must try”. Small little hearts on the fruit sorbets was just the right signature to conclude our meal.
Final verdict:. A unique fine dining experience. Great ambience, good food, attention to detail and fantastic friendly service. The restaurant also has a “For Ladies Only” Brunch and a Daily Chef Lunch Dish – a daily cooked meal chosen each day from France, Italy, Morocco or Lebanon.
Valet parking is available at a nominal charge. Location: opposite Al Jassim Group, corner of C ring Road and Salwa Road

I pass-by this restaurant everyday. This is all I can do. The though of having the food there sends me shivers down the spine.
Good idea! But let's keep it after Ramadhan. I know he already has a lineup of customers during this month and may not be able to provide us with that quality service.
acchabaccha : Why not join me at Rizks' Emporium .. I hear that he now uses proper plates and is offering valet parking
I will just pass by to get a whiff of the aroma and satisfy myself. The pocket does not allow for more than that.
Don't worry WT.. It will be open in the evenings ..
Take your beloved for a romantic evening out
Hurry up! Soon it will be too late. Ramadan is knocking on your door.
Oh my goodness, looks fabulous!
So tasty - Will be there
Sounds great . Wish my Own Juliet was here so I could take her there
