I saw the I Phone in 2 shops in Qatar:
- Rotana in Hyatt Plaza: 16GB for 3500 QRS (more than a month ago, so the price might have gone down!)
- The mobile shop inside QMart at The Mall: 3000 QRS but i don't remember how many GB
It is true that not all features of QTel are working on the unlocked IPhones: internet is not working, MMS, GPS, etc..
More, the upgrading of the versions is a real problem as you need to get the phone to a specialist to upgrade it.
Vodafone will be, hopefully, active around March 2009, and they promised that all features will be working. The only problem is that we need to have a new Phone Number and a new Sim Card.

Abu Nesma is right all Iphones in Doha are hacked to work with Qtel but it might cause you problems especially when updating through iTunes.
Besides even if it's not hacked 3000+QR is way unreasonable for a 600$ phone.
