Try the Dell XPS models, outstanding performance!! but I removed the vista and put XP pro for it to work faster. The design is cool also! If you want cheap laptop with good performance, try Fujitsu Siemens, the only problem is the design is not that attractive!
If you want very good laptop then go to JARIR BOOKSTORE, chose TOSHIBA,DELL,SONY and apply for 12 month lease system from FIRST FINANCE. I did it and it was very convenient by paying few hundreds for 1 year only
What are your needs and what do you want to use it for?
What applications you need the most?
Depending on that, you have to decide on the following properties:
1- What screen you want/need and what size (15.4" a good choice).
2- What Processor you need for your applications (the most influential factor).
3- What memory you need (usually 1GB to 2GB will be very good).
4- What graphic card you want/need (512M will do, but complex graphic applications may require more). Also, do you want this memory dedicated to the graphic card or shared-this is influential too.
5- Battery life (up to 4 hours is good, but some people require more...)
Then you can move on to choose a brand name that you may prefer.
Toshiba, Sony and IBM are among the most expensive, but are also very solid durable machines.
HP, Dell, Siemens and Acer are good machines and are cheaper than the above mentioned ones. LG has also proven to be a good choice.
Then come other types that are very cheap but not recommended brands... I won't mention any though!
VERY IMPORTANT: Ask about the agent of your PC or laptop before you buy it and ask about their after sale services. This is usually a very decisive factor.

Macbook Pro!!!!!!
what do u mean by best ???
First of all u have to determine why do u need it?
is it just for office works (word / excel) or to talk to your family back in ur land ?? (those things anything will work)
Or is it for gaming and high graphics dvds? or desining (2d or 3d) ? (you will need high processor / high VGA and more RAMs)
I would go for toshiba in this case.
Determine your usage so we can help you what exactly do u need?
you might buy something which will cost you thousands and you won't be using it .. unless u have extra money
If you go for cheaper without WINDOWS, then
ACER - Qar. 1399 [LULU HYPER MARKET]
.
HP - Qar. 1899 [LULU HYPERMARKET] with windows
.
