Moderators: It is sooo not my style to post anything like this, but my friend's child has a one in ten chance at a US$125,000 scholarship. Especially in these tough economic times I would love to help her win.

Hi everyone -

Those of you who know me know that I am anything BUT a "pageant mom" - and neither is my friend, Cal. She entered a Regis & Kelly Show "cute kid" contest months ago thinking that she might win a coupon or something and, lo and behold, her daughter has made it to the Top Ten!!!

Voting has already started to narrow the field down to five and will be over at 9pm PST today (see timetable below my signature). There will be another vote to narrow it down to one winner, who will win a US$125,000 college scholarship!

It takes maybe three minutes, tops, to register on the Regis & Kelly site and then vote. Just go here:
http://tinyurl.com/pcvkf Then click on "Vote Now" and register. Be sure to vote for Amelie Sercu (last child on the page) and the four other children who you think are *least likely* to win (this part is important!).

Again, I would never forward something like this. . .but she has a one in ten shot right now for what amounts to a full college scholarship. . .and with your help it could be narrowed down to one in five shot!

Please forward this message to anyone and everyone. . .and please, please vote!!!!

Cheers,

Roxanne

Voting ends:
San Francisco 9pm
Houston 11pm
Indianapolis midnight
Atlanta midnight
Buenos Aires 2am (Tues)
Melbourne 3pm (Tues)
Doha 7am (Tues)

"I just think it's pretty cool". much cooler than asking whether paying QR 50 for a housemaid is too much type of stuff :)

I just think it's pretty cool that I actually know someone in the contest. I've always wondered whether the contestants were real or whether they were just staged.

Fingers crossed for Amelie!

No problem, done this before! (She didn't get the scholarship but that was OK.)

I'll bet you would be if it were your friend's child, though :o)
