Beverly Hills Tower

Hello everyone,

My family will be moving to Doha in August and will be staying initally at Beverly Hills Tower. I would like to ask if there are any other families living there with young children, mine are 5 and 8. Is BHT child friendly. Is there a childrens' play area, (as stated on their website). Any positive or negative comments regarding BHT would be appreciated.

Not ideal to live in a tower with small children so i would also like to ask if there are any nice public parks near by.

Thank-you

Thank-you for all your comments. I guess it won;t be all that bad for my 2 children after all. They will be thrilled to swim daily and thankfully we will be close to the Sheraton park. I'm sure that will be a god send in the cooler winter months. I guess anywhere in Doha is unbearable in the summer, compounds and apartments, your'e going to be stuck inside. Plus side though is living opposite City Centre!!!! Seems to be quite a bit in there for children too.

See you all at the pool in August!

Elza's right - the smoothies are really good. I highly recommend the peanut butter one.

We live in BHT and it is great for my kids. Well as great as it will get in a tower block anyway. I would say there are rather a lot of kids about, my little girl will be 4 in Sept and my son is just 5 months so maybe it is different for us. The pool is completely shaded as from lunch time which means it is cooler and no need for sun cream. So every afternoon after about 3.30 the mums and kids emerge. Personally we are friendly with 2 South African kids, 4 French, a few Brits, some from Canada, from Singapore, Jordan, Iran, Lebanon and lots more.

So its not as if I can send them outside to the park of course, but every day we get some running around done, some swimming and some socializing. Nice for mums too as you can buy nice coffees or an ice cream and some really good smoothies downstairs. Gets boring and to say the least i dread summer and know we will have to be very creative to survive in style!

Ps You can't walk to City Centre or the Corniche, well not in summer anyway!

It's about a 10min walk to sheraton park from bht, but as with everywhere in doha you have to cross a few busy roads.

Will you be driving? Check if you can walk to the parks before you make a decision. We stayed in Ezdan Towers because it was close to the parks but then we realised you cant walk to them from there safely!!! Good luck

exactly, i have never seen there any real play area for kids...

i would say it is a place for singles and couples w/o kids.

If you're looking for a problem, you're probably gonna find one.

When I lived in BHT there were a few kids living there, but as you said a tower block isn't the best place for children. Apart from the swimming pool (including separate child's pool) there isn't a lot else to do. I imagine your two are too young for the pool table and dart board and too old for the play area, which is very basic consisting of a kids gym and some tables with toys I think.

But as vfr750 said, you are close to both City Center and Sheraton Park/The Corniche, both of which will provide plenty of entertainment for your little 'ens.

If you search QL for Beverly Hills Tower you'll find some older posts about it.

Might want to ask the ladies over at expatwomanqatar.com and see if any of them live there. Nice location - near Corniche and a park.

it's a nice place, but more for adults than kids. though there is swimming pool i am not really sure if there is kids play area...

u will mostly find singles and couples but not too many kids.

and forget it that ur kids could go outside the building to play around-it is just next to the street.

If you're looking for a problem, you're probably gonna find one.

Beverly hills tower is just few blocks away from City Center (mall) and at least 500 mts from sheraton park at the corniche...Thats a nice place to stay and live in, i guess! All i could say is,thats a nice location right on the heart of the city...

Everyday i beat my own previous records, for the number of days i have stayed alive!
