BOOKS FOR READING FOR CHILDREN
Greetings to all out there in this year of the OX (accd. to the Chinese Calendar). Hope it truly brings everyone prosperity through hard work and efforts (like the bull) :-)
My friend's son got a great New Year's Gift...many infact.......and all for free :-0 YES!!
He happened to come across a big crate of books (stories, novels and magazines)abondoned in the car park of his building. After much enquiry they discovered that it was left behind by a brit family who had left the country the previous day. Very Lucky Kid!! But he was kind enough to share them with friends one of whom happens to be my son.
To cut a long story short, I have another friend who stays in a big residential complex consisting of over 300 apartment flats and who also takes classes called the CREATIVE CORNER(those interested can find the details in the classified section under Services).
She was telling me that she plans to start a library for all the children in her complex since they had nowhere to play in the evenings (being cold & windy outside these days)and also she was keen to spark their interest in books so thy could discover the reading habit (which is sadly almost non-existent :-(( in this jet-set age of the internet)
A VERY NOVEL & GOOD IDEA...I think and you might agree!
So, if any brit or otherwise who might be planning to bid adieu or.... anyone else who wishes to donate books for the cause comes across this posting......you are welcome to PM me or contact her on the number in the advert.

OH, and I guess she must be interested in books in English language only..... and also ones relevant for reading by children!!
