Please must think of those who love blue cheese before you say any thing about it.The Silton (blue cheese) is meant to be fermented . Hope who so ever is making such a comment on blue cheese is well aware of what is it.

I am a chef and i assure you will start loving it. If i will have a chance to proof it.

same thing is with truffle oil. It smell like some one have farted but with the subjection of chef it is simply mind trembling.

Bottom line is you should calculate the final out put.

I always check the food, but occasionally I have taken fruit or veg by mistake that isn't entirely upto the standard I would excpect. I've taken it back to Carrefour and they have refunded me instantly. This happens everywhere in the world, it's happened numerous times at home too.

I do think the fruit & veg is alot less fresh here though.

I wonder why you did not complain to Carrefour first... before approaching Baladiya...

So at least your story would be complete as to how Carrefour would react on your complaint and be able to recompensate your money... and how they would at least be alarmed with their product expiration and services.

Carrefour cannot provide perfect service/product inspections all the time though. You can encounter these things not only from them but from any other shops as well.

Just my two cents...

Yes, thanks Hadeel. I've also seen at Carrefour the rotten vege. I've even seen fungus on the tomatoes! And they still have it out for sale! :-o

As for the blue cheese, I'm not used to it so probably can't tell very quickly if it's discoloured.

Food contamination or spoilage also depends on how it is stored after packaging & during transportation.

There is a number in the newspapers for customer complaints. Try contacting them.

But its part of your responsibility to make sure that what you buy is fresh. Its easy to look through the plastic packaging of the cheese to see discolouration.

this kind of lettuce which is cheaper and sold as "local product" is many times uneatable wherever you buy them ... I stopped buying them -it happened to me as well that it looked good but it is closed in the foil - when I opened it at home was rotten inside or full of little insects .. i just wonder why the local product rottens faster than those coming from remote places...

hadeel78 said how the hell can i check unless i have a knife to open the lettuce and marrows there !! or would i cook there in the store so when i find out they can taste the food..."

It was sealed? Even so, you can see through the plastic packaging. And in any event, when you opened it to cook it, you would have seen that it's rotten and keep it as proof to tell Carrefour.

And the receipt would have shown that you had just recently bought it and the vege should not look that rotten.

You sound like the Daily Mail...

all caps? maybe you did not go straight to your home after you made your grocery as leaving your grocery items inside your case especially the perishable ones may tend to spoil as most items are affected by change of temperature, just my guess :)

You could have gone back and show this to them. The baladiya won't ignore you if you have proof of receipt....

And besides, don't you check what you buy before you put it in your cart?
