Hi there - I am about to move to Doha, with my wife & 10 + 7 y.o. We are keen to enrol the children in DESS as we are native english speakers (but not actually English). Does anyone have any thoughts on how difficult it is to get kids into this school, as Compass is far more expensive. thanks...
Pay attention in class Hippo! Grantley tells us he has already signed up with Compass. Compass is still accepting applications. There is no formal entry test but pupils should be capable of being taught in English.
I am sorry to be a wet blanket, but there are one or two things you may have not thought about. If you have not already done so, please contact DESS and the Compass as soon as possible. The horrors of school waiting lists are frequently mentioned in this forum. I have even heard of schools that have "closed" their waiting lists. (Perhaps they will soon have waiting lists for their waiting lists...)
Another small matter is that most schools insist upon some kind of entry test or tests. I cannot be certain, but I would guess that the more popular the school, the harder the tests.

I think it's possible for your kids to get into DESS if they have Australian passport.

Just keep dancing, it will do you good!
Your employer may be able to assist you. Some, such as QP have a number of places that they are able to use.
If you are not british passport holder it's very difficult to enroll your children in DESS.
I heard that cOMPASS it's a very good school. buy also try Qatar Academy and Doha College getting on their websites.
Cheers
