DIY uneven floor question
By Aisha-Taweela •
I live in an old house. The floor in my living is not even. As matter of fact it slopes down at certain places. I would like to equalize/level it so I can put hardwood flooring.I know I could break the lot up, put cement and then prepare the floor. But that is a lot of work & expense. My living is around 60 sqm.
Now my question is: Is there any other product I could put on the floor? Like a sealant? Chemical something?
I know that in my old farm house in Switerland they put something light weight. They poured this and had a machine in the middle to do the leveling. Is that available here? Pleade advise me!
You can most likely get it from Tadmur on C-Ring. Ask them if they can recommend someone cheap to do it for you. It'll be messy though!
Ok guys. Maybe for you it is easy, but I have another question.... Where can I get this stuff Is it ready made stuff or do I need to do mixing? And would I be able to do this myself?
I think Baldrick has already given an option.. quite easy to apply..
Sounds like you need a self levelling screed. Worst case, mix some VERY runny cement. it should find it's own level.
