I am due to give birth on oct and would likt to try hamad. Trouble is I have an insurance and not a health card. Can I use private Insurance card at hamad?
@Medan, First she has to visit her Primary health centre (Nearest health centre) She would get a File number there, this number is important for issuing Health card. She can apply for card even there by paying fee and submitting her ID copy and 1 recent pic.
If you like to have the delivery with Hamad, just make the health card. It is really easy to get one. QR100 for a year. I am not sure about the documents required for sure your ID and photo.
Once you had the card, then you need to visit the Primary Health care, then once your pregnancy reach to 7th month, they will refer you to Women Hospital.
I delivered my premature baby last year there. They had provided an excellent care for me and my baby. After 5 days hospitalization pre-natal and almost 3 months NICU for my baby, we only have to pay QR500 !! and we were automatically enrolled to follow up check up :)with all specialist for free also.
Dont worry, Hamad is best option.
Good luck my dear, all the health uptill the day your bundle of joy arrive.
Well i would highly recommend HMC, Doctors are experts, staff is experienced and the facility is well equipped. They discourages C-Section bcoz of post-operative complications a woman may suffer in future, they tries their best to go for normal delivery but when it becomes hard they decides for operation after discussion with consultants. In private sectors their goal is to generate money and C-section would definitely help them to get their goals. Better visit your nearest primary Health centre and get ur Health Card, consult a doctor and get a referral for Women's Hospital for further followup.
Thanks for your answers. Its just that they say in al ahli they normally conduct C section and I would as much as possible want a normal delivery if possible. Is it true that they always conduct csection there even if unnecessary coz it is not a training hospital so they arent audited? Our qatari friend says I will regret giving birth there and I should opt for doha clinic instead for private. But facilities for hamad is more complete.
No Madam, they dont accept any private health insurance, But what u can do is, Pay the bill, get reciept from Hamad Hospital and claim it to ur insurance and get ur money back from ur insurance company, But make sure if they cover everything like Bed charges, pharmacy, lab tests and procedures. Second imporant thing for treatment in HMC u need to have their Health Card, without health card they wont open ur medical file. It costs 100 riyals to get the card and its validity is 1 year.

If you have HI then go to Ahli hospital no need for Hamad or medical card. The insurance will handle all the payments.
