Hi Guys, just wondering if the private business sector in Qatar have standard regulations/laws regarding parental/carers leave for men after thier wifes have a baby. Does anyone work in the private sector and can shed some light on this one? Thanks heaps
It's not quite that civilized in here...so that would be a no. I know men who have postponed their annual leave to use it as paternity leave, and also some who have requested unpaid leave. This, of course, isn't always feasible or allowed by the company, and even then it would only amount to a few weeks.
Forget paternity leave when even the legal maternity leave is, wait for it...maximum 50 days including any time taken off before the birth!
If you ask your employer really nicely, he might give you one day off, and if you are very lucky, he'll pay you for that day too!
No
No Official Parental leave, however some companies do give Marriage leave..:)
That would be a great big NO!
