Infant car seats for air travel

I am looking for an Infant car seat that is ECE R44/03 approved.

I have an ECER44/04 car seat, as most are these days, but when I contacted the airline, they said their poicy states the car seat must be ECEr44/03.

I tried explaining that the UN has changed the regulation, but they did not want to budge.

I am prepared to rent or buy the car seat for a good price. We are travelling overseas on XMas day for 7 days.
