King Salman’s traditional dance in Qatar goes viral

Saudi Arabia’s Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud completed his two-day official visit to Qatar and returned to his country yesterday.

Not only did the country strengthen their ties further, they also decided to join hands in many fields.

And yet, one of the most heartwarming moments of the Saudi Arabian king’s visit to Qatar was an impromptu dance he broke into while being welcomed in Doha.

The 80-year-old monarch was standing watching the traditional Ardha dance in his honour, when he joined in with gusto. He used his right hand to the tune of the music. Holding his ‘mishlah’ by the left hand, he later joined in by waving his walking stick.

All the while, HH The Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani stood by, smiling.

It did not take long for the video to go viral on the internet. Though the King is known to perform Ardha before, he was still praised for his energy levels and sense of timing.

Did you get to see the King while he was visiting Qatar?
