for voilating the law, its not necessory that you should be of some specific nationality.. even me some time when get tired of seat belt, i don't wear. doesn't mean that i am from some specific country thats why i am doing this.. its same for all. it depends upon only on the person, who is doing it. wearing or not wearing seat belt is extremly a personal matter, have nothing to do with nationality.now youngster some time not wearing seat belts, or have opened a windows, again same situation. some times the parents are unaware of these things, and kids always want to be free and want to enjoy, so in result some time they do such big mistakes..and yup i am in doha...

The fact is, it is extremely dangerous for a small child and baby to sit in the front seat. The airbag alone if deployed will kill them. Also, if not secure in a child/baby seat in case of accident or just stopping fast can do serious harm to a baby. A babies bones are not formed completely, nor do they have complete motor control so they can suffer internal decapation just from a small fender bender. Even just hold the baby can crush them in case of accident :/Qatari authorities are taking the right step in education the public and are even offering free child car seats:http://www.qatar-tribune.com/data/20110825/content.asp?section=nation3_4Just do a simply google search about the dangers of not using a baby seat. Not everyone is educated in this matter or has grown up in a culture where it is the norm to use these, but they are availible here in Doha so there is no excuse to not have one. God helps those who help themselves, so why not protect your innocent and helpless child. Better safe than sorry.

In case your car has passenger airbag , during airbag deployment , it could kill the baby/infant/child. Source: Car Instruction Manual

Rules or not, but as long as it concerned my child's safety I'll do it. Small  or big amount of fine does'nt matter here.

aimforoutlastlife i think theres a rule for kids safety, as i have seen many parents practising this thing in Qatar. People have been very harsh with you, dont worry, only u have to do is buy a baby car seat that is a seat which is portable and u dont need to sit at back with ur baby. and if ur kids are more than 3, or 5, u can put baby locks in ur car... that will help u alot. Cheers  (=

heya all... EID Mubarak to everyone... nice to see the thread of ingeniero, rizks and hajmola... hehehehe.... now back to the topic, well, my dear aimforoutlastlife, whether there is no fine imposed or it is prohibited or not, the safety of your child must come first. i hope you will be enlightened.

If you're child was in a proper car seat you wouldn't have to sit in the back with it.  It's dangerous for your child to be out of a car seat, front or back.

honestly?  you would put any children in a car without a car seat, and in the front seat just because the police seems not to be enforcing a law at this time?  ARE YOU INSANE?  The only safe place for young children is in the back seat and in a car seat that is properly installed.  May safety prevail, PLEASE!
