Please advice for travelling by plane with a baby

Hello!

I will probably travel with QA with my 2 months old baby (6/7 hours flight)in the next days and I would like some advice from experienced mums/dads.

The food
I am breastfeeding her but to be safe I want to be able to make some bibs On the plane?
1. How do you sterilize the bibs on the plane? With Sterilizing pills?
2. What kind of water are you using, you bring yours (do they let you?), you use the one provided on the airplane?
3. How do you heat the bib?

The seat
4. I think that QA is providing bassinet. But is it really safe? In case of turbulences I believe that the baby is not protected. Would you advice to put her in the car seat from the stroller? In this case I guess QA make you pay for a seat, correct?

The stroller
I have a 3in1 stroller:
5. Can I put the baby inside until the door of the plane and they will take the stroller to store it until we arrive ? Is there a size/weight limit (my stroller can be folded but it is still quite big) ?
6. If I decide to check the stroller in the check-in, is the weight included in the max kilo authorized by the airline or is this extra?

Other staff
7. Otherwise I am planning clothes to change her, a complete diaper bag, bibs and pacifier (take off and landing).
Anything else you would advice to carry?

Travel cot
Do you carry you own travel cot abroad when traveling by plane? I believe that they are quite heavy. If possible would you advice to borrow one on the final destination? She is still ok (but limit) in her Moise basket. Is it a good idea to take it with me (much lighter than a travel cot).

Thanks for your help! Do not hesitate if you have special tips to give for a easy and nice trip with baby :-)

Feed the baby or make them suck at something during takeoff and landing...

Thanks a lot for your answers. I like the advice of ear plugs for me but maybe I should take a big stock for the other passengers as well :-) ???

But I did not know you could use ear plugs for the baby. Is that really safe for this age (2 months)? Other mums are using them?

One small note other than the above posts.

Ear plugs are very important. Babies are not crying because they hear other babies' cry but it is due to air getting into their ears which will be very painfull and disturbing for them. Make sure to use the ear plugs otherwise they will get sick after their first travel in flights possibly with ear infection.

I travelled with my kids every summer. Shouldn't be a major problem. However make sure to have your baby wear bib all the time. It is very difficult to change a baby in the plane. Also I would advise to take extra bottles, as you will not be able to wash them properly during flight or in the airport. I would suggest to have cotton balls, warm water in the unbreakable stain steel thermos and a baby cream to change your child's diaper. There is no guarantee that you will be getting warm water and baby wipes are always cold.

QA allows stroller up to the plane, so don't worry about it. The bassinet is comfortable, but it's better to have your own small pillow and cover.

Take ear plugs for yourself, as there might be a lot of crying. Babies generally don't like planes.

The most important thing is to be very calm. Once you get nervous and fed up, things will get worse.

Have a nice trip
