with MissT. Communication is the key word for growing ups... Though the thing is you've got let them honestly feel that they can open up with you on the issues under the Sun. It would be a little lighter for a Father to have an open communication with the Son, and likewise the Mother for the Daughter.

And the "spice" to that open communication with the kids is... Parents to spend more quality time with them. Yes, all of us Parents wish to see our Children growing older and becoming more matured to face every challenges that they meet in Life. Best wishes Moon65. :o)

Patience is the key.....

~i guess u shud spend more time with kid

~ harmonal changes in kids occure usually at the age of 11 and 12, so mood swings are common

~listening him/her what he/she wants

~taking care of the fact who are hislher freinds

~check more often what he.she is watching on TV and internet

~dont confront hi/her, infront of everyone, talk to him alone abt the things bothering you

~before he/she sleeps go and spend time talking abt his/her day and tell abt yours, and this is the time wen i tell my daughter what were the things in all day she has not done right and she needs to improve

i hope i helped,it works with my daughter who is 12 ...and it always works

best of luck

let me tell you something useful, either talking to him in a reasonable way ,or don't do anything at all.i have the same problem with my bro,and from my humble experience ( a year and a half :P),the main reasons for that are 2 things: -friends:he should be more careful of choosing his friends

-family:you shouldn't be too strict or too loose

i hope i helped

Talk to your child and find out if there is an underlying issue that is causing them to behave in this way. Best thing is communication.

There is a lot of good booklets and lectures on this page to bring up children

I am guessing that you are Muslim from your nationality, thus, try to handle your kids in a Islamic manner, learn from the sunnah of our beloved prophet Muhammed(PBUH). The ultimate guide.
