Most likely he is detained by CID and held in solitary confinement untill the CID are done with their investigation. This could take maximum period of 1 month untill the case would be forwarded to Public Prosecution, after that the case will be forwarded to court untill the bail is granted. This is the normal procedure.

Till the time he is beind detained in the detention center, he will have no access to anyone from the Family, Lawyer or anyone else. Most likely he will be allowed to make a call after 15 days.

This happend to my friend, thats how i know about it !

Sorry to hear about the wife and kid and the trauma they are in. Get in touch with the Indian Embassy and do the needful to send them home. CID cases may take long and I think they have the right to keep without revealing the reason up to 30 days. Hiring an advocate will cost you a bomb in this part of the world.

Better not to wait for the release of the HUbby , let the family go back home and return once he is released.

If difficult dont wait for translators. There are police who can speak well arabic, english & Hindi. They will guide/help you.

Go to the nearest police station, try to see the senior person there and explain the situation. Better take a person who can translate the language and make sure you explain all details to him before you reach police so that he (translator) can ask with details.

All the best wishes

You should not delay this even for a minute now. Meet the concerned staff at the embassy immediately and request action. 8 days are just too much.
