For my first born, I started at 6 months. Did everything by the book. For my second one however, I started at around 4.5 months. He was hungry always, so started him on pureed veggies, cereals, and fruits.

You can start on solid food any time between 6- 12 months, but try to give one food item at a time, coz if mixed item cause allergy it would be difficult to make out. You may start with potato or banana at first.

I started at 6.5 months with non-allergenic food like avocado, sweet pots, carrots, stewed pears. When your child will start paying interest to what you are eating, then give to her some soft non-allergenic food to try.

usually it is recommended to start with less allergic foods, such as zuccini and banana. Mush them, add some milk, and feed you kid. Usually solids are given after 6 month, but it is also depens if your kid is breastfeeded or on formula. The breastfeeded babies do not need even water till 6-7 month.
