Where are the parents???

I really wonder what's wrong with the parents these days...

Last night I had to call security to the gym in my compound, as a bunch of young kids (not older than 10) decided to destroy gym equipment, and then set a threadmil on fire.

Today, I had stones thrown at my car by two 5-6 year olds as I was driving by on my way home...

Where are the parents???
It really is NOT ok to let your kids do whatever they want, people.
If you have no time for kids, just don't have them!

For God's sake...Leave the kids alone....!

Well, I think this is not something particular to Qatar. Go to the projects in the US, the council estates in the UK, certain areas in Big cities in Europe and you will find the same.

Mind you, it may be some of the same nationalities living there as here in Qatar...hmmm:/

@ bea_7 i think that you are living in my area.. sometime i also saw arab kids dont know where they came from but very brat or you can say stupid they are...hhuuuuhhhh..

throwing stones on cars..

beat people in streets..

running behind cars specially pickups...

last but not least

also try to snatch "lungis" of indian/bangladeshi mens..

Not that it makes any difference to be honest, but none of the kids causing problems around my compound are neither Qatari nor Western. They speak Arabic, but it is hard to say which country they're from.

It seems like we all have similar experiences! This is really sad... It seems like Qatar is growing a generation of absolute monsters, as they will grow into adults who simply respect nobody and nothing.

Maybe they should be sent to their home countries for a couple of years to live in poverty, like somebody said, to appreciate what they have here

we should always be on the safe side of everything, these attitudes are everywhere, i was walking to a party one night, when an old car, full of teenagers ( not qatari) threw eggs at me.

i know the laws here applies mostly for them, so i just went home and changed. this time, i took the taxi though the venue was just a 2 blocks away.

most i saw doing these are nt qataris.

in the apartment where we live, we dont have any problem but kids from other apartments come inside and making a mess, and u know one day they just caught my one year four month old baby (who was playing in front of the door)and pulled her to the main entrance and with great difficulty I could save her from those s*****. when I told this to one of there parents the response was that they are playing and they can not control them. Soooooooooooooo???????????????

Yeah i've noticed it here n been noticing every other day....esp the sudanese kids in my compound.totally intolerable...

also on the national day on the roads, i noticed many kids sitting on the top of the car w/o any fears...its highly appreciated but y to terorise other kids walking on the road by horning on their ears...spraying on them etc..... ridiculous....

The kids also verbally and physically abuse the workers.

My parents are residing in Nasik in a residential compound only and last months few of the young kids around 11-12 years old decided to steal few chocolates from the inside vendor's small shop.OK? Now suddenely few of smaller aged group around 3-4 years appeared on the screen too and the older kids were bound to distribute few things to them too.now the theft become big and when vendor complained to the society president and committee they laughed off the incident by saying that it was thrill by youngsters likea n adventure. Now the vendor gave them a bunch of mother sister talks and reported to the police by saying that f some maid servant or her kids would have committed the crime you all call us low graded thiefs.Than whole society paid him back for the thing sstolen and extra 5000 rs. to keep his silent.

Once i saw a kid (aprox. 7 years) in the fruits section of supermarket, he was picking an apple from the tray and throwing it back to hit other apples and damage them. so i told him in a friendly way that "if the security will see you then he will give all this damaged apples to you to eat them in front of him" so he felt afraid and he runaway to his parents who do not know what happened.

Too much supervision is not good for the kids!

yeah, kicking will not help probably, but will help release some of the anger :o) just kidding!

Tinker - you're definitely in.

Oryx - this only confirms one thing... there should be a licence to have kids! Like you can't drive a car with no licence, you should not be allowed to have kids without one...

"kicking" reaction against them will not lead to good results in my opinion, but it will increase their bad behaviour.

the solution is to advise them if possible or else complain to the security/police.

My compound:

- bad car scratching

- theft

- flowers pulled up

- gym trashed (unusable for over a year)

- pool furniture in the pool

- pets terrorised

- rocks thru windows

- under 5s playing alone in adult pool

And you know what??? The parents are all 'educated' people who are University lecturers...

Ever say a word and its 'yanni what to do he is only a child'...they NEVER supervise their own kids.

What i've seen on the streets last night 'Teenage Qataris punching each other' is not a good example to kids. These kids need parental guidance but unfortunately their parents lack to give that very important thing in order to mold their children better.

These kids are reprehensible,.but i guess that every time they are doing something like these things they are not getting what they deserve..:)

I surely will invite you Happy - we will kick some sense to some pple ha ha

I agree with you Tinker on that it's probably partly because they're brought up by nannies. A nanny cannot discipline them, so how can she teach them what's right what's wrong? At that age discussion will not work.

but seriously why would any parent be happy reading this because i am sure they will not be.

"Where are the parents?" Definitely they will be doing something worse than what their kids are doing.

I am sorry to hear that such things are happening in Qatar.

Those kids just needed some good advise which unfortunately, their parents did'nt exactly do that.Good parenting is also very important as well.
