EVER WONDER?
Why the sun lightens our hair, but darkens our skin?
Why women can't put on mascara with their mouth closed?
Why don't you ever see the headline 'Psychic Wins Lottery'?
Why is 'abbreviated' such a long word?
Why is it that doctors call what they do 'practice'?
Why is lemon juice made with artificial flavor, and dishwashing liquid made with real lemons?
Why the man who invests all your money is called a broker?
Why is the time of day with the slowest traffic called rush hour?
Why isn't there mouse-flavored cat food?
Why didn't Noah swat those two mosquitoes?
Jackmohan2007 Would that mean people in colder countries (who have much less sun round the year) have darker hair and people around the equator have lighter hair? ...:-)
people that live around the equator do generally have lighter hair and darker skin because of the hot climate (west Africa for instance). There are always exceptions to this because of genetics, migration of people as well as terrain, i.e people who live in the mountains are more exposed to UV rays than those who live in inner cities and therefore will have a darker skin.
I was answering this in the context of the physiological effects of UV rays on the melanocytes cells that produce melanin which absorbs UV rays to protect our skin from cancer such as melanoma.
people in colder climates have lighter skin but can get darker skin by exposing themselves to artificial UV radiation thru a procedure called Tanning.

A doctors work is called practice....because he is never perfect...he could always make a minor mistake....also 2 different persons having the same symptoms could end up with 2 different results after surgery....
Hahaha...":Why didn't Noah swat those two mosquitoes?"...I know huh?!
USA Doc. since you have answered couple of questions I expect a logical answer for the last question as well..
BTW thank you very much for the info..
Why is it that doctors call what they do 'practice'?
I will answer this when I have the time to do so.
Why is lemon juice made with artificial flavor, and dishwashing liquid made with real lemons?
Lemon juice is an acid and relatively weak. Drinking lemon juice in its diluted form (half a lemon to many ounces of purified water) can help conditions like heartburn, diarrhea, and constipation due to indigestion. It also prevents pathogenic bacteria from being present in the digestive tract. Can you imagine what will happen if you drink a 12 ounce cup of pure lemon juice? You harm your stomach because citric acid will puncture the inner linings of stomach causing peptic ulcer (very painful).
When and if that happens much of HCL will be released and now you have a powerful acid (HCL) and a weak one interacting together causing even more damage.
As to the Dishwashing liquid I think lemon juice interacts with the surfactant agents of the cleaning liquid (mostly hydrocarbons) to release the surface tension of oil and fat molecules present in the dishes. Hot water is needed to make the breakdown of those molecules even easier. Lemon juice also give a nice aroma to the newly washed dishes.

You can't teach experience...
Wow USA Doc, that's an outstanding info. thank you so much.
Why the sun lightens our hair, but darkens our skin
Both hair and skin have Melanin which is a skin pigment that gives the skin its color. More melanin the darker the skin. Melanin also exists in the Iris of the eye. Sun darkens the skin because UV rays trigger the production of melanin thereby making it darker whereas UV rays breakdown melanin in the hair making it lighter.
"ABOVE ALL DO NO HARM"
hmn.. Yeah i wonder why the sun lightens the hair but darkens the skin.
