Warning B&Q in the UK
I received this warning from a friend in the UK.
Beware at B&Q
I'm not usually one for posting warnings about potential scams but I had a close call yesterday.
I walked into B&Q hardware store at lunchtime and some old guy dressed in a black shirt
with an orange apron on asked me if I wanted decking.
Fortunately, I got the first punch in and sorted the b*stard out.
Those less suspecting might not be so lucky.
Pass this warning on!!
thanks dweller for the explanation coz i was also lost!!!
"eat, drink and be merry"
really enjoyed it & passed it on to a few people my email!!
Dwellergot it now...lol
In the UK asking if someone wants "decking" is (slang for) asking if they want hitting hard enough to "hit the deck"....K.O.
Decking in B&Q terms is the wooden decking.
It should make sense now
dweller ....It flew over my head....
Dumb me....but why did he ask you if you wanted decking....that too at lunch
time?
Honestly I guess there is humour in it but I cant get it.
That's why it's posted in funnies.
LOL - I fell for this thread and was quite curious
Very Dry
Wht does this have to do with any of us here in Doha ?!
Brilliant! I was talking to someone the other day who was complaining that whenever he needs any help in Carrefour, everyone disappears or they say they are going out to the back to get it and never return. JUST like B&Q! The most frustrating experience in the UK, especially if you are trying to buy a kitchen or bathroom. By the time you get it, the staff have retired for the second time. (for those who don't know, they have a recruitment policy of employing retired people over 55). They are generally nice but take such trouble to help one person it takes them all day!
