Can a Person wid medical history & regular followups can stay in Qatar after his retirement?
My Dad is going to retire soon as his age is around 60 yrs, he is a govt employee, has been working in Ministry of Information for more than 35 yrs. Now he wants to stay back in Qatar even after his retirement as he is a Cardiac patient & had gone thru heart surgeries here in Qatar, is there any procedure thru wich i can extend his stay here on the basis of his medical history?? is dere any other alternative way??
Plz need immediate response, wud highly appreciate any sort of help in this regards.
Ashu, there is no standard procedure as such, it is just a mutual understanding between employer and employee. A verbal or preferably a written application to continue or extention of resident permit for X number of years on the medical/health/humanitarian consideration.
However the bottom line issue is how one could manage post retirement scenario the cost of living in Qatar, pension/gratuity?
get a qatari to sponsor your dad if it possible..
Thanx Victor, that sounds logical to me but the problem is we dont find any reason for refusal, Itz the rules here which doesnt allow us (the foreigners) to stay here much.
Do u know the exact procudure of how to apply for the abv mentioned scenario?? is dere any consultancy firm thru which i have to apply??
Rule of sponsorship will apply in any case and he is been working with Ministry; he could request his (BEING EXTRA LOYAL FOR 35 YEARS) employer to continue his visa for another few years due to medical reasons.
I don't see any reason for refusal...Right?
That's really the sad part about Qatar, isn't it? In order to stay he would have to have a sponsor or buy property at the Pearl.
