Ashghal has formally opened a new pedestrian bridge along the E-Ring Road
Ashghal has formally thrown open the pedestrian bridge on E-Ring Road, located between Al Thumama Intersection and the intersection of Al Matar Street with E-Ring Road.
The opening was held as part of completing the E-Ring Road and Najma Street Development Project, reported Gulf Times.
“There’s a continuous co-operation with the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MoTC) to construct a number of bridges in all parts of country with the aim of enhancing traffic safety and ensuring the safety of pedestrians,” said Saoud Al Tamimi, a senior engineer at Ashghal’s Roads Projects Department.
The pedestrian bridge on E-Ring Road aims to enable the area’s residents and visitors to cross this vital road and reach commercial establishments in the area. This is in addition to facilitating access between the residents of Old Airport (Area 45) and Al Rawda “Thumama” (Area 47), reported The Peninsula.
The pedestrian bridge, which is 66M long and 4M wide, is equipped with elevators on both sides which can accommodate a large number of users including those with special needs. The bridge is equipped with lighting, closed-circuit television (CCTV) and a pedestrian counter, reported Qatar Tribune.
The opening of the E-Ring Road’s pedestrian bridge is part of Ashghal’s ambitious efforts to provide a number of pedestrian bridges in various parts of the country, through expressways, main roads and local roads projects.
Recently, work had been swiftly progressing on another pedestrian bridge near the Old Airport Area.
Great job by Ashghal.
