Mowasalat’s public transport buses to Hamad International Airport (HIA) have come as a great relief to a large number of workers and others for whom the existing taxi fares are too steep.

The government’s transport company has enhanced the services of bus No 747X, and this is expected to benefit a large number of people travelling between Doha Bus Station (DBS) in Al Ghanim and the new airport.

With taxi fares starting from QR25 when boarded at the airport, many people look for cheaper and efficient alternatives to go to their destinations. The enhanced bus services are expected to cater to their needs and provide a feasible option.

The Express bus service operates between the Al Ghanim bus station and HIA at one-hour intervals in both directions. While the DBS-HIA service runs from 5.30am to 12.30am, the HIA-DBS bus operates from 5.02am to 1.02am, inquiries at the bus station revealed.

A company official said the buses take 22-23 minutes to reach the destination in either directions.Besides the services operated between DBS and HIA, buses plying from Mesaieed Industrial City (MIC) to the Al Ghanim bus station (No 109), are also being routed through the new airport, it is learnt.

From Mesaieed, the service via the new airport starts at 4.20am and can be availed every hour until 8.20pm. On Fridays, additional services from MIC are scheduled at 12.50pm, 1.50pm, 2.50pm, 3.50pm, 4.50pm, 5.50pm and 6.50pm.

In order to facilitate the onward journey of Industrial Area-bound passengers from the airport, bus No 787X is operated from DBS to Al Attiya Souq at 9.40pm and 10.40pm. From Al Attiya Souq, the bus leaves at 10.24pm, 11.24pm, 12.24am and 1.24am.

On Fridays, the bus is also operated from the Al Ghanim bus station at 11.24pm, 12.24am and 1.24am. From Al Attiya Souq, the bus leaves for DBS at 9.40pm and 10.40pm.

bus 747 is almost always empty. but let's see when all the other airlines move to HIA. too bad i heard it doesn't take passengers at the bus stops its route passes through. you need to go to the bus station itself to take it.
