The Doha Metro dream is one more step closer to reality
The Doha Metro is one step closer to reality.
The upcoming rail network, that can drastically change the face of commute in Doha, has begun works on its new stations.
The tunneling of the underground sections of the Doha Metro — totaling 53.25km — had recently been completed. Once completed, the total distance of the Metro network is expected to be 111km,
“The electro-mechanical works have commenced in many of the stations on the all lines,” Gulf Times quoted Qatar Rail managing director Abdulla Abdulazeez Al Subaie as saying.
Once completed, the four underground sections of the Doha Metro — Red Line North (11.30km), Red Line South (12.05km), Green Line (16.60km) and Gold Line (13.30km) — are expected to make travelling around town a lot easier.
Are you looking forward to travelling in the Doha Metro?
