Eid cultural extravaganza at Katara to conclude today
The Eid extravaganza being hosted by Katara - the Cultural Village will conclude today after offering visitors several moments and memories to cherish.
The four-day Eid Al Fitr festivities feature a host of special attractions and shows and have been a big draw among visitors, including children.
One of the highlights is a musical show titled “A Child’s Dream”, which has thrilled children as well as adults. It tells the story of Ahmed, a Qatari child who decides to invite guests from all over the world to share the blessings and fun of Eid with all.
The show, which has three daily performances in Arabic and English, also features acrobatics, circus, clowns and dance performances from Britain, Spain and Italy on the waterfront stage and has attracted large audiences from Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Bahrain, Katara said.
Another major attraction has been the distribution of ‘eidya’ (gift) among children after the end of the first and second performances, while fireworks mark the end of the third show with a stunning display of lights.
Meanwhile, innovative exhibitions and a children's play area unveiled during the Katara Ramadan Festival under the theme “Qur’an and the Creation of Man” will continue to remain open for visitors after the Eid festival.
This is due to public demand for the same and to give people who have not been able to attend such activities the opportunity to enjoy these attractions, Katara said.
Visitors from Qatar and GCC countries, including non-Muslim guests, have been enjoying the festivities. A large number of people have also been spending the evenings at Katara during the Eid holidays.
