Five injured in car accident at West Bay Doha

Several ambulances, traffic patrols and fire brigades rushed to the scene of a car accident that reportedly injured five individuals including two women waiting at a bus stop.

The accident happened around noon on Majlis Al Taawoun Street in West Bay Doha and caused a major traffic block in the area near the State Audit Bureau building.

A witness said that a Karwa taxi stopped abruptly in the middle of the street to pick up the two ladies who seemed to be waiting at the shaded bus stop. A van then hit the taxi from behind at an angle that resulted in the taxi spinning out of control and crashing into the two women.

Another bystander, who was reportedly the first to rush to the scene, said one of the victims' legs got cut off in the tragic incident.

According to a conversation on a Whatsapp group called Media Mates, five individuals involved in the accident were injured and taken away in the ambulance immediately and at least two seriously injured. However, there has been no official confirmation yet from Hamad Medical Corporation or the traffic department.

Lekhwiya and traffic patrols controling traffic and pedestrian activity at the scene apprehended individuals trying to take pictures.

It is quite concerning that several people are careless in their driving here. Drivers in Qatar have to be more careful and respectful of the traffic laws.

Its time to stop the Service of Karwa Taxi or teach the taxi drivers the basic lessons to park the Car
