Leaders from Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the UAE set to meet Trump in March/April
The ongoing siege of Qatar by neighbouring Arab countries has been going on without resolution for several months now.
However, latest developments show there may be some movement towards a resolution of the crisis. It is understood that senior officials from Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the UAE are set to meet US president Donald Trump in the next two months, according to Reuters.
Axios website had first reported on the development, quoting sources with knowledge of the negotiations, saying these separate meetings would be hugely consequential in their own right.
It wrote that the meetings would eventually lead to a peace deal over Qatar at a summit in Washington or Camp David.
HH The Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan are all expected to have bilateral visits with Trump in March and April, reported The Hill.
Washington is hoping to lay the groundwork for a summit by the summer.
“We would hope the dispute is resolved before the summit to allow maximum focus on other strategic concerns like Iran,” Reuters quoted a US official as saying.
We are waiting for the March & April. We are so hopeful !!
Hopefully it is resolved before Ramdhan month begins to all people working of different nationals in Arab countries who are indirectly affected and their families..In Sha ALLAH ..Aameen!
