Qatar’s Ministry of Economy and Commerce (MEC) is continuing to clamp down on businesses in Qatar that fails to adhere to the country’s laws.
In the latest example of the MEC’s no-nonsense attitude towards fraudsters, a beauty salon located in Al Waab was shut down for a week for using expired products, reported Gulf Times.

The MEC also fined the beauty salon. The decision came within the framework of the ministry’s intensive inspection campaign to monitor markets and commercial activities in order to crackdown on violations, price manipulation and counterfeit and substandard products, reported Qatar Tribune.
The beauty salon will also have to publish the administrative closure declaration on the ministry’s website as well as in two daily newspapers at their own expense.
