New fuel prices announced for the month of June

The Ministry of Energy & Industry has announced the new rates for petrol and diesel for the month of June.

While diesel prices remain unchanged (QR1.40 per litre), there are slight variations in petrol prices.

In June, 91-octane Premium Gasoline will cost QR1.20 per litre while 95-octane Super Gasoline will be QR1.30/ltr.

The prices this month had been QR1.15/ltr (90-octane Premium) and QR1.30/ltr (97-octane Super) respectively.

In April, the country had announced the decision to start tying its oil prices to that of the global market in order to “raise the efficiency of energy use in the country and raise consumers’ awareness.”

At the time, the move was expected to heavily fluctuate the prices of oil, which is heavily subsidized in Qatar.

Qatari fuel prices are being calculated by using a formula that takes into account regional prices, global levels, and production and distribution costs within Qatar.
