Qatar celebrates National Day 2020 with immense pride, patriotic fervor
Qatar National Day is one of the most-awaited special occasions in Qatar.
On this glorious occasion, citizens and residents alike showcase their deep respect and love for the country while connecting with its rich cultural heritage.
Like every year, this year's National Day was also celebrated with immense pride and patriotic fervor.
The celebrations kicked off with the National Day parade at the Doha Corniche, which was held in accordance with precautionary and preventive measures against COVID-19.
Several dignitaries, officials, families of employees of the health sector and participating entities in the parade were in attendance at the special event.
In appreciation of the role of healthcare workers at the frontline of the battle against COVID-19, this year's parade saw frontliners march ahead of the military forces.
His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and HH the Father Amir attended the parade, which saw Qatar's armed forces display military might with great enthusiasm and national unity.
Just like every year, team Qatar Living joined the National Day festivities across the city. Some of these locations included:
Doha Corniche
The Pearl-Qatar
Mall of Qatar
Grand Hyatt
Katara
Al Rayyan Venue
One of the highlights of this year's National Day was the launch of the fourth match-ready stadium of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, the Al Rayyan Venue.
The stadium hosted the final match of the Amir Cup between Al Sadd and Al Arabi, welcoming as many as 20,000 fans.
Qatar Football Association (QFA) also launched the emblem of Qatar's bid for the Asian Cup 2027 at the venue, marking the start of the country's promotional campaign for the mega tournament.
