Qatar’s customs department destroys 30,762 bottles of liquor
Almost 31,000 bottles of liquor, which were caught at the Doha Port at different times while being smuggled into the country, was destroyed using a bulldozer.
Qatar’s General Authority of Customs destroyed 30,762 bottles in the presence of several top customs officials. The stock was destroyed after completing legal procedures and on taking approval from the courts.
Qatari officials have been working hard to check the smuggling of contraband substances and drugs into the country. It has resulted in several arrests over the last few months.
