Study: Roads in Qatar safer on Fridays
The roads in Qatar are safest on Fridays, says a study, and it adds that based on a survey of 340 traffic accidents, students and those looking for jobs are more prone to causing accidents than others.
Some 47 percent of the 340 road mishaps that were surveyed for the study were caused due to lack of attention of motorists and nearly all these accidents were caused by students and youth hunting for jobs.
The study was conducted by the Ministry of Development Planning and Statistics, reports Al Sharq. All the aforementioned motorists were aged less than 25.
Young motorists drive fast and do not care much about rules and regulations and road safety, shows the study.
The study also says that at least 50 percent of the accidents surveyed were caused by motorists who had driving experience of six years and less. [The Peninsula]
Surely it would be safer on Fridays as those who were drinking the previous night would not have sobered up completely by Friday evening and thus lesser traffic. The non-drinking lot are the ones who use the bus service and their presence in large numbers at the Bus station on Fridays is proof of this.
felt sorry for that students and youth....hopefully they can find a OPEN offices during Fridays.
students and youth hunting for jobs !!! hmmmm
amneo: Get a Tuk-Tuk like Rizks
Thats one reason I dust my motorbike and go for a ride, dreading the heat. :)
And of course it has nothing to do with the fact that it is the one day of the week that most of the population has a day of rest? Nor are the malls/bigger shops are open until later in the day.
"students and youth hunting for jobs" ?
So, are they in a hurry to get to University and Interviews ?
