Tuesday declared a holiday as Qatar prepares to celebrate National Sports Day
Qatar is one of only a few countries in the world which has dedicated a particular day (second Tuesday of each February) to celebrate sports.
People in the country are looking forward to National Sports Day (NSD), which will be celebrated all over the country tomorrow. To ensure maximum participation, the Amiri Diwan has declared Tuesday (February 12) as a national holiday, reported Qatar Tribune.
Different ministries and public institutions in the country have lined up a series of activities to mark the event, which aims to develop a sporting culture at the grass-roots level.
