WATCH: You will not regret a weekend trip to the Souq Al Wakrah beach!
With the weather lightening up in recent days, now is the best time to visit numerous beaches around Qatar.
Qatar, blessed with a number of public and private beaches, has added another one to the long list — Al Wakrah. The beach, which officially opened in July, is open daily from 10am to 6pm and has been attracting a lot of family crowd.
A number of lifeguards have been posted to the beach’s vicinity and people can swim under their watchful eyes, reported Qatar Tribune. Several restaurants, based on cuisine styles from around the world, will cater to your culinary needs.
While work on the beach project is still ongoing, all basic amenities for swimmers are already available.
“People can come and enjoy swimming here. We’ve set up changing rooms and shower facilities just steps away from the beach. We’ve also arranged lifeguards to ensure the safety of swimmers,” Souq Al Wakrah Manager Khalid Al Suwaidi told Qatar Tribune.
“We were testing the facilities during the soft launch. Now, we want families to come and relax. It’ll need more time to finish the facilities as we aim to include more activities at the beach,” he added.
