Qatar to host French Champions Trophy match between PSG and Monaco on January 5, 2025
It is raining quality football matches in Qatar.
After the end of the ongoing 2024 FIFA Intercontinental Cup, the country is set to host the Trophee des Champions match — between Ligue 1 winners Paris St Germain and French Cup holders AS Monaco — on January 5, 2025.
The game will be played at Stadium 974, one of the venues of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, announced the French League on Thursday.
The 30th edition of the Trophée des Champions will take place on Sunday 5th January 2025 in Doha, and for the first time will have a title partner in Visit Qatar, the national body responsible for developing and promoting tourism in Qatarhttps://t.co/IwDkzFdja7

While the Trophee des Champions is the traditional curtain raiser to the French season, last year’s match also took place in January when PSG beat Toulouse in Paris.
While Qatar will be hosting the event for the first time, the game was held outside France for the first time in 2009 — in Canada. Since then, Tunisia, Morocco, USA, Gabon, China, and Israel have all hosted the game.
Organised with the support of the Qatar Local Organising Committee in charge of football-related events, Visit Qatar Trophee des Champions will take place at 7.30pm Doha time.
