how to get job
lol Isobel ... everyone has a place and a function in the ecosystem... some are here to serve and others to be served... a planet without lizards would max out on vermin.
Besides who else could we count on to wash our cars, empty our mall trolleys, deliver our pizzas, clean and cook...
Lay off the low lives and appreciate what they do to make our lives more elite!
hmmm.. whats the topic in here.....
Do you really think you deserve them?
You get them because you are cheap!
Yes you do.
Get used to that concept.
"please wear a deo!" Good advice for Malabaris :)
Thanks for Giving good tips
do not fold your sleeves, especially the 2 folds look which malabari executive bachelors seem to consider a fashion statement... it sure is a fashion statement... a real bad one!!!!
do not carry your CV in a Carrefour plastic bag ( or for that matter your local grocery bag) no matter how exciting it may seem to you. Get a real decent leather pouch
and please wear a deo!
Having read your ad, what you appear to be looking for is a company IT 'handyman'.
Now the weather is nice, I'd suggest you take a walk up and down C/D Rings and target smaller businesses in the office blocks there.
Remember, a CV only opens the door. Once you get a foot in that door it's up to you to impress at the interview,
however if your CV sucks, you will not even get the interview, so get someone to help with it.
If you do turn up unannounced, do it dressed smartly (shirt tucked into to trousers, and proper shoes - NO sandals or jeans) and apologize for taking their time.
How yo know the people uve said had fake experiences?Maybe thats why u dint get job because you have fake experience and certificates too...like many Indians here.
HadiRaheel,
Please note that IT jobs are very few in Qatar.
There is no IT industry here to offer lot of opportunities.
Target Govt.Departments, companies in Oil/Gas sector, Banks etc. Only big companies hire IT professionals.
Wish you good luck,
Qbound.
lol all these suggestions are useless...
Go with the Duct tape, its only QAR 5.00 and effective (if used correctly!)
I have a similar situation as what you have...Im already here for more than a month yet unemployed...I strongly agree its not with the communications skills because based on my experienced I had an interview wherein I can't really analyzed the interviewer's question asked due to the fact that the accent was so stiff and the incorrect grammar made my nose bleed...
I felt that he was disappointed and unease with me since I am always asking "can you kindly repeat" "pardon me Sir"...later I realized I should pace my way of communicating with the interviewer since Im the applicant but believe me understanding the interviewer was really a tough one...anyway thats a lesson for me to learn...
This is not to offend any HR peeps who might read this...I guess my experience was once in a lifetime....in everything happened there always be a purpose...
Be optimistic you're surely find the right and best job for you...its a matter of time and patience...:)
ohh ..ok ..anyways...who cares....as the saying goes...friendship, fight & love to be done with equals..and i never lower my level....lol
I was talking in that reference only... it isn't limited to this thread nor did it start here...
happy,..i dnt knw wht r u talking but i just responded to isobel for bashing......
and if she happens to be a blond...you are in luck ;) If language really is your lacuna then strive to THE BEST at your skill and i will share with you what somebody shared with me long ago and i will put it just the way he said it....."Kabil bano kaamyabi kudh tumhare peeche bhagegi."...i know the feeling that joblessness can bring but winners are the ones who hang in there one minute longer. All the best.
Painther...I hope you have read the post on other thread... if I remember correctly, thats a thread to do about some movie thing of QL...:)
you may want to get married to a Qatari lady to get a job!!!!!! but put love first!
language is understanding. i thanks God that i understand many languages.
Isobel, btw, why r so furious with indians? anything personal or just you don't like 'em? you may have problem with this one gentleman, OP, but just categorizing all is objectionable!!
in general my experience here with english is that their english is bad, yes, funny but they talk & write ungrammatical english and if doubt persisits, ask any scotish !!!
try to get one beautiful girl from US,UK,CANADA AUSTRALIA OR NEWZEALAND to help you improve your English!!!!!!
I too am loving your condescending stupidity...so how does it feel?
If only I was lol....I am loving your paranoi xxxxxxxxxxx
Hadi..pls dont be rude to isobel. She is MOD's arm candy.
and your English is not that good. What else can I direct at you?
Your English is not that good because it is your second language.
I don't have a second language so good for you!
Yet, neither would I try and apply for a job in my second language if I failed at that and my qualifications were bad.
You are very cheeky.
My English might be not good but dont say that's because im indian
and your level of English is not that great. I would think your qualifications and experince are dubious at best.
You will get a job. I am sure you have somebody to help you. Make the most of it; as your lack of qualification and experience will show itself and then you will be sacked.
You will be back on here shouting racism and most will feel sorry for you etc etc etc!
People on QL are weird. Ignore them! Get yourself some Duct tape and use it for your next interview.... you'd be amazed with the results.
Well I have Woked as Senior System Engineer
Thanks dear but people here feels i donno English at all and I am bad in writing skills. I don't know why there's no response
what job positions do u have now in your company? Await my CV !
thanks for you comment i will definitely try what you said
HadiRaheel, you are very fluent in English. I am surprised you haven't landed a job yet. Why do you think that is happening to you?
Hadi Raheel, please try to improve your writing skills. I rejected more than hundreds of CV for a post I was interviewing just because of the English. Bad English only means lots of time to correct/understand your English.
It is indeed unfortunate that here in Qatar word of mouth seems to work better. Why dont you try door-to-door and just explain your true situation and tell them what you can do for them. Come up with innovative ideas to cut down costs. Employers like honesty and innovation.
Good luck in your search for a job.
PS. I am unable to use punctuation as I lost its key on my laptop.
"right place at the right time.".....absolutely right, but how to do that on a regular basis? how?
im humble to hear that. I am trying my best,
rest Almighty God will do.
Don’t worry about your Arabic. Many expatriates in Qatar her don’t understand Arabic. You are ‘realistic person’, so language is not a big problem
Hope some thing works out in a month
Well thanks again for your moral support
Contacts always helps our expected things to work.
Ghana - I need to improve my English a lot. can you teach me pl.
Hey Thanks i Appreciate for your moral Support
you are funny. She is not talking about me. i can teach you English by the way.read the posts well before you can talk.
Hadi - The job market is yet to pick-up, I'm optimistic starting from 2011 gonna be great than ever. Especially in The State of Qatar. Whole world vibrates about Qatar, so be positive and never loose your confident, consider some employer taking little extra time to review your credentials. Your English is great! keep going.. Good Luck!
"right place at the right time.".....absolutely right, but how to do that on a regular basis?
Yeah Africana I think you need to work on your English
That may be right . Anyway, with WASTA(whom u know) everything works here
you people talking about my english
yes im not good at arabic
I got my current job by chance. I couldnt even remember submitting by CV to the comapny yet I got invited for an interview in London and was offered the job there and then.. Yes sometimes contacts helps but most of the time its being in the right place at the right time.
most of the time, the whom you know is a MUST to get a job not only in Qatar but also in other countries including your own country.
No I didn't! I said he needs to improve his English. I assume he doesn't speak fluent Arabic. Otherwise he is going to be very limited for the jobs he can get.
he is not English as he didn't use English language as a medium of instruction during his study
very true.
Many HR reps do not even have the qualifications to really understand your CV. Try Dubai i am sure you would have better luck
yes Dear
i tried but all in vain left with 0ne month
donno how to get a job here applied all over through companies website's waiting for response
Are you serious with that level of English????
