Please remember this is Qatar, things move slower here. When it comes to getting employed, first you have to have patience. The recruiters have atleast 100 CV's a day to shift through, and there is no way they can reply to each and everyone of them.

Do your do diligence. It is a full time job just searching for a job. Do not expect anyone to search for you. They can offer ideas and leads, that is it.

Don't be shy to call the companies you are interested in directly. As I mentioned in a previous post in this thread:

There are agencies here called Kershaw Leonard, Engage, clarendon parker, who can help. There are online places also to apply. gulftalent, & bayt are popular places to upload your CV.

FACTS: Some emails maybe more, never get read, due to lack of staff and time. Better to call or go in person.

As for me:I am not working only because of not having the correct visa. I am female so now days that means the Immigration Law has changed and they want companies to hire only first those femaleswith my qualifications that are on residence visa sponsorship from father or spouse. I have had great job interviews and some have lead to offers but unfortunatly they can not sponsor me. I have hope, and I am still waiting for the right job, with the right company that has transferable visas available.

Best Wishes

Rinzan,

You have to do job search on your own. No one here does the work for you. Unless I am missing something, when did QL'Ers become staffing agency?

We can only suggest to you where YOU can search. Looking for work is a full-time job on it's own. Patience and diligence will land you the job you want.

Best wishes

I suggest you contact the staffing agencies that work directly for the oil & Gas companies. Being you have a much needed degree.

There are agencies here called Kershaw Leonard, Engage, clarendon parker, who can help. There are online places also to apply. gulftalent, & bayt are popular places to upload your CV

I can speak from experience, and do not want to have you get your hopes up, but I am here since 10 months, if you are female living here, it is not as easy as others think.

There are few and far between female work visas available. I see posts for jobs in all the major places where the employer states, female position available, must be on husband or father family residence visa.

I am American, I was told it was easy to get working here. I am here on a upon arrival visa, it was normally easy to tranfer to a business or company residence visa. I have had many phone and face 2 face interviews and I have been offered posts from very big companies like Wintershall,QF and QP to name a few, but since being here, the Imigration laws have changed. They now hire only women that are already sponsored on family rp.

I just had another interview today at Governement ran company, and the same thing was told to me. I said to them, come on, your a Government Company,I have transferable visa, it should be easy for you to transfer my visa. They said sorry no it is the law now. Have to hire only women on family visas. So if all these big companies can't transfer a female visa, then which ones can?

But good luck,I even have staffing agencies wanting to place me, but they say the same thing. Visa must be family rp. The staffing agency recruiter told me a few days ago, it does not mean that all companies can't hire you, it just means very few companies are allowed to have business or residence female visas available. just means we have to keep searching and, it is harder to get sponsored and find the one company that can transfer your visa.

Don't lose hope. Apply, drop CV's, try Hotels, they hire specific nationalies but most times low wages for Qatar cost of living. But I am just not wanting anyone here to have the painted picture I was given 10 months back that it is EASY to get work, especially an American with 15+ years HR training & Development exp.

Hey if you have not done the following please consider. It did work for me.

Advertise in Gulf Times it will cost you 60QR for classified small 130QR for large. This is very effective.

Send your resume to companies you come across. Don't worry about vacancies.

Yes keep an eye on Qatar living.

Good Luck

Why not first of all just start hunting for job, you can find it easily if you have friend or relations around here, make sure about company and salary before you act, part time jobs flying around just grab one of em if you like!

Cheers!
