I am currently working here in doha under the probationary period of 3 months.I have an open contract and it is written in the contract that "the probationary period is a minimum of 3 months emploment during which time either party may terminate this contract by giving 3 days written notice to the other party. Thereafter the employees employment will continue until such time that either party decides to terminate in accordance with the terms and condition. I am with the company for just a month. they have  my passport now for the processing of my visa. they already gave me a paper which is my visa copy. But I haven't had my medical yet or finger print. I still dont have pataka. My question is, can I resign in my current company now and transfer in another company that will give me a higher salary.? What if they release me but they dont give me an NOC?? Then I cannot work here in qatar? I am planning to transfer in a government owned company. please help me..

Flor1212.. thanks for the concern. Yes i have a problem in my visa.. I dont know if my company now will release me.. but i dont have any finger print or medical yet with them.. but they issued me a visa already which is I think temporary, until i complete my finger print and medical.. they issued me a visa so it means they are my sponsor now right? do you think i can still get an NOC from them..? because when i had a business visa before, my current company now asked for NOC.. and the mandoop of my business visa has provided one.. so that is my problem.. I think any one who issue a visa needs to have NOC. what do you think?

thank you all for your reply.. qatarisun but then my company now has issued me a visa, which is they said, temporary, until i complete my finger print and medical.... and any visa issued, even business visa is required to have a NOC right? because before I was hired by my current company, I was with a business visa, and they asked for NOC.. And they provided an NOC, which is addressed to my current company nw.. thats all i am worried about.. and I think I have a better opportunity in a government company.. I dont want my current company now to be a hindrance in the growth of my career..

Alumnar,  It has nothing to do with "local" hiring. He doesn't need NOC from his current company, because his RP with them has not been finalized yet. This is the only reason.

You do not need an NOC if employed locally. They have to release you under the terms and conditions agreed as you posted (stated in your contract).

you don't need NOC from your current company . You only need a NOC from the company which you worked with on your a business visa.

for anothet NOC. Or just talk it out with this new employer of yours. But prepare yourself for the worse scenario, i.e., you won't be release or no NOC for you!

(working), it means that they are not your sponsor yet. Your sponsor is the one in your business visa.  Resign and get your passport.  No need for NOC.  You need your NOC from your sponsor only.

If you resign, you will have to go back to your country of origin and pay the company for all expenses.

This is my understanding.
