If you're looking to utilise the LPC then there are a handful of Magic/Silver circle law firms out here (A&O, CC, Herbies to name but a few) along with some of the American players (White & Case, Lathams etc). Not sure how many have trainees in the region, but would expect that any trainee visit out here would be for only one of the four six month seats - will depend on grades (and whether you've applied to them before and not been successful), but may be worth a shot. Do you have any link to Qatar (I presume not from the original post) as that may be a selling point if you want to qualify out here. Am not that up to speed with the local players, but imagine there are people like Al-Tamimi and a myriad of others. What sort of law firm are you looking for, an international one or somewhere where you can do all of your TC in Doha? Presume since you are LPC and non-arabic speaker you are looking for an international firm rather than to practice Qatari law, although that is an assumption (but from what I understand Doha Knight is correct of the latter). Given that times appear to be pretty hard still for trainee applicants in general I imagine it may be a bit of a struggle (as in the UK), but certainly worth a shot if you have good reasons that will stand up in interview.

Firstly, you need to speak Arabic if you are to practice law here as this is the only language permitted in court proceedings here..secondly, you need to know the law of the land and I don't think you have taken an exam on Qatari Penal Code or the local form of Sharia followed here.

Try to enroll yourself to an arabic course and parallely meet practising lawyers or law firms to find your way out with the local sharia code.
